I found a meta-analysis conducted in 2011 on the impact social/emotional learning has on students' academic success. The meta-analysis was conducted by 4 individuals,
Jospeh A Durlak and Kriston B Schellinger of Loyola University in Chicago, Allison
B Dymnicki, Rebecca D Taylor, and Roger P Weissberg of the University of Illinois at Chicago.
There were about 213 of these studies involving more than 270,000 students. Of those students there was an 11 percentile point gain in academic achievement. As well as improved behavior, better ability to manage stress and depression, and better attitudes towards school and themselves. This was all in comparison to students who did not participate in S/EL programs.
